The Daisy Adult Red Ryder air rifle differs from the classic Red Ryder in size. It’s 1.35 inches longer than its predecessor, which was made for younger users. Now, adults can relive childhood memories without using a weapon that’s awkward to shoulder and fire.
Besides being larger, practically everything else is the same. You have the wooden stock and forearm that provides a hefty feel. The stamped metal receiver protects the internal parts while you operate the plastic lever.
With a reservoir capable of holding 650 BBs, you won’t run out of ammunition soon. Even if you take a second to shoot one round, you’ll have to keep firing for an hour at the same rate to run through the reserved ammo.
The open iron sights make target acquisition faster. The old Winchesters also had an adjustable rear notch paired with a raised bead and ramp.
While this is a modern production gun, it uses the time-honored spring piston operating system. It’s not meant to propel BBs beyond 350 FPS, meaning this is best used in a backyard or on a farm.
