There are very few WWII-era reproductions in airsoft, and fewer still that come close to matching the real gun's weight and feel. The STG44 — the Sturmgewehr 44, historically significant as the first true assault rifle — was a heavy weapon. The AGM reproduction is right there with it: full metal construction, plus a synthetic wood stock that gives you the look of the original without the fragility. At 37 inches and 9.4 lbs, this is a rifle that demands a real commitment to carry. It's built for players who prioritize historical authenticity over weight savings, and for collectors who want something substantial in the hands.
Velocity and where it fits. Rated 405–415 FPS on 0.20g BBs. That puts it squarely in outdoor field territory with a 380–400 FPS cap, so you'll want to verify your local limits before playing it on anything tight. The effective range is where you'd expect from a well-built AEG with a solid inner barrel — comfortable at mid-range distances on an outdoor field, but this is not a gun for CQB speed or competitive play. The 9.4 lb weight and 37-inch profile tell you what kind of role it plays before you step on the field.
Full metal done seriously. Full metal construction on the receiver, barrel, and internals is the reason for the weight, and it's also the reason this rifle looks right next to the real thing — or next to another player carrying a genuine reproduction. The synthetic wood stock is accurate to the later wartime variant and adds to the period feel. It's not the fastest rifle in the world, and it's not trying to be. If you're building a fast WWII milsim line-up, you'd pair this with lighter weapons and accept the trade-off.
Magazine that actually works. The real StG44 used 20-round and 30-round magazines. AGM has gone with a 450-round hi-cap instead, which reflects how the airsoft community actually uses these guns. The hi-cap is the kind of large-capacity unit that tends to be unreliable on cheaper AEGs, but AGM's build quality generally handles them well. Feeding is consistent through the capacity range, and with a 450-round magazine you can run most skirmishes without a reload — the historical trade-off is that the real gun's shorter magazines kept players moving. The rifle runs on standard 6mm BBs through the AEG power source.
What's in the box. This is a complete bundle. The rifle ships with the 450-round hi-cap magazine, battery, charger, a Deans adapter, a bag of BBs, and the original manual. Battery, charger, BBs, and adapter are included — you don't need to shop for any of it. The Deans adapter means the battery fits any standard AEG setup if you need to replace it later.
A note on the power source. The spec sheet's LiPO-ready designation is “No” — treat that as a limit. Run the 7.4V battery included in the bundle, and avoid higher voltage on this platform. The rated 405–415 FPS is the output, and the gun performs reliably within that envelope.
Who this is for. Collectors who want a historically accurate centerpiece. Milsim players running a WWII line-up where the weight and realism are a feature, not a bug. Anyone who's never held a WWII replica and wants to know what one actually weighs. If you're looking for a fast, lightweight AEG for CQB or a gun you can run all day at a big field skirmish, this is not the right choice — look at polymer-receiver builds instead.
Includes federally mandated blaze orange muzzle tip. Canada compliant.
