APS Reinforced Polycarbonate Version 3 Gearbox AEG Piston

Stock pistons wear out. The plastic teeth strip after a few thousand rounds, especially when you're running anything above an M100 spring. That's when you reach for a reinforced replacement that won't crack under load.

The APS V3 reinforced piston uses a polycarbonate body with a steel tooth. The steel tooth takes the contact stress from the sector gear, while the polycarbonate keeps weight down for faster trigger response. It's a middle ground between an all-plastic factory piston and a full-steel upgrade — durable enough for most field builds without the added mass.

What makes it different. This piston is designed for V3 gearboxes. It works in AKs, SIGs, AUGs, and MP5Ks — any platform using the V3 shell standard.

When to use it. Good for replacing a worn stock piston, or as an upgrade when you're running standard to mid-range springs. If you're building a high-power setup with a heavy spring, you'd want a full-steel piston instead. The polycarbonate body can't handle the same stress over time.
