The Arcturus C.A.T. V2 Centaur split gearbox addresses a practical problem: servicing an AEG gearbox without full disassembly. Traditional V2 gearboxes require splitting the entire shell to access internals. The Centaur design splits horizontally, providing access to the gear train, motor, and hop-up assembly.

What the split design does. The upper and lower halves separate, exposing the sector gear, piston, and motor mount. This makes it easier to swap gears, check the spring, or replace the motor. For anyone running a C.A.T. platform, this simplifies maintenance compared to a conventional V2 teardown.

Material and construction. The gearbox is metal. Metal holds up better than polymer for components that see repeated assembly and disassembly.
