Army Armament Full Metal R28 1911 Desert Warrior Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol, Black/Silver

The R28 is Army Armament's full-metal take on the 1911. Black frame, silver slide, polymer grips — it's a two-tone pistol that feels right in the hand and looks like it walked off a collector's shelf. The metal slide and barrel give it authentic 1911 heft, while the polymer grip panels keep it from becoming uncomfortably heavy. Full green gas blowback means working recoil and a slide that cycles back every shot.

What it plays like. Eight inches long, 21-round single-stack magazine, manual thumb safety. If you've never handled a 1911, the safety goes on the left side of the frame and the grip safety lives at the back — pull the trigger with a firm grip and the gun fires. It takes a second to build muscle memory if you're coming from a double-action striker, then it goes away.

Velocity and role. Rated 300–330 FPS on 0.20g BBs with its adjustable hop-up. That clears most CQB limits easily and sits well inside indoor caps. 1911-style gas pistols rarely break 350 FPS anyway, so don't look at this as a velocity play. It's a sidearm for skirmish backup, milsim authenticity, or anyone who wants a gas blowback with character rather than another Glock clone.

Internals and upgrade path. Built on the Tokyo Marui 1911 architecture, so aftermarket parts from Prometheus, Laylax, and similar suppliers fit naturally — inner barrels, hop-up units, nozzles, recoil springs. The adjustable hop-up is a plus; many entry pistols use fixed designs and you're stuck with whatever the factory set. The 21-round single-stack magazine is consistent with the real thing but means spares are worth picking up if you plan on running hard.

What else you need. Green gas and 6mm BBs, obviously. A spare magazine will save you rewinds between games. Standard 1911 holsters fit at 8 inches. Battery and charger are not applicable — this is gas-powered.

This is a green gas blowback pistol, so expect gas consumption to be higher than a fixed-breech design and output to drop in cold weather. That's the trade for the recoil and the working slide — most buyers wouldn't have it any other way.
