A cylinder set is the air seal backbone of your gearbox. If your M15 is shooting soft, inconsistent, or losing compression after a break-in period, the cylinder and its mating parts are usually the first place to look. The Classic Army Cylinder Set for M15 replaces the worn or undersized internals with a matched group designed for the M15's barrel length and expected velocity range.
What a cylinder set actually does. Inside the gearbox, the cylinder compresses air and pushes it through the nozzle into the hop-up chamber. The volume of that air has to match the inner barrel. Too little air for a long barrel and you lose velocity; too much for a short barrel and you waste energy, add noise, and stress the piston without gaining power. A proper cylinder set gives you the right port position and internal volume for the M15's barrel, which translates to steadier FPS shot to shot and cleaner air seal under the nozzle.
When you need this. You're rebuilding a gearbox that's been running for a while and the velocity has drifted. You're swapping springs and want the cylinder matched to the new load. You're troubleshooting a gun that cycles but feels weak, and you've already ruled out a bad nozzle, worn piston head, or leaking bucking. This is a repair and tuning part, not a magic upgrade — it restores what should have been there from the start.
What's in the box. The cylinder set itself. You still need a gearbox to install it into, and you'll want to check the piston, piston head, and nozzle while you're in there. If any of those are worn, replacing just the cylinder won't fix the underlying leak.
Compatibility. Designed for Classic Army M15 series AEGs. The M15 uses a standard Version 2 gearbox shell, so the cylinder fits any V2 build that accepts the M15's dimensions. If you're running a non-standard inner barrel length or have heavily modified the gearbox, verify the port position matches your setup before you commit.
Installation requires splitting the gearbox and basic hand tools. If you're not comfortable doing that yourself, a local tech can install it in under an hour.
