The Max M2 is Classic Army's answer to the motor most buyers eventually replace: the factory stock unit that gets the gun running but doesn't pull hard, runs hot, and dies when you try 11.1V. This is a short-axis type — the kind V3 platforms like AKs, G36s, and SIGs use — and it's a genuine step up in both build and output.
CNC housing, not cast. The motor's outer shell is CNC-machined rather than cast or stamped. That's not just a materials-list flex: a solid machined sleeve conducts heat away from the windings more effectively, and it holds tolerances tighter, which means the pinion sits right and the bearings don't walk under load. For a motor sitting in a cramped V3 grip, that matters more than it might on a longer AEG where there's room for air to circulate.
Speed and torque, both. The M2 isn't a pure speed motor or a pure torque motor — it's tuned for both. That means adequate punch to pull a field-springs AEG without burning itself out, and enough RPM to keep rate of fire respectable on a lighter spring. If you're running a heavier spring build, a dedicated torque motor is the better play. If you want something that does everything well and doesn't need to be squeezed for a specific number, the M2 is aimed at that use case.
Why type matters. Short-axis and long-axis motors are decided by the grip shape, not preference. A V3 platform needs a short type. A V2 M4 or MP5 needs a long type. Getting the type wrong means it doesn't fit — there's no halfway.
What it replaces. This is a direct replacement for stock motors on short-axis AEG platforms. If your motor is making grinding noise, drawing current like a space heater, or just not responding the way it used to, swapping it is usually the first step. You'll need basic tools: a screwdriver for the grip and a soldering iron or connector crimpers if your new pack uses a different plug. Battery and charger are not included.
Before you buy. Check what your current motor looks like before ordering. If you've already swapped to a different manufacturer's platform or the grip has been replaced with a non-standard type, the shape may differ. This motor is for AEGs that require a short-axis type.
