The shell. Hypalon outer panels over 1000D nylon backing. Hypalon is a synthetic rubber that's resistant to water, abrasion, and UV degradation, so it holds up to rain, brush, and repeated pack-in-and-out without breaking down. The 1000D nylon underneath takes the abrasion where it matters most: shoulder load points and the back panel against your pack or wall. It's not the most breathable fabric you'll find, but it's the most durable one at this weight class.

Fit and adjustability. Adjustable shoulder straps and a detachable cummerbund let you size the vest to your torso. The cummerbund comes off entirely if you don't need lateral adjustment, which matters if you're layering it over a soft armor setup or just want a lighter profile. Adjustable in every direction — shoulders, sides, and back — so it stays locked down when you're running or crawling.

Where the padding lives. EVA foam padding at the shoulders and back panel absorbs the load from pouches and keeps pressure off your spine during longer games. EVA doesn't compress the way open-cell foam does, so it holds up round after round.

What fits on it. Laser-cut MOLLE panels cover the front and shoulders. Laser-cut means the webbing is fused to the shell underneath rather than stitched on, which eliminates flapping and keeps your pouches from dragging loose panels. Stack pouches high or go low-profile — the panels handle either. The vest ships with a reinforced drag handle at the back, and the MOLLE layout lets you add gear without blocking it.

Weight and limits. At 2.6 lbs unloaded, it sits in that sweet spot between a chest rig and a full plate carrier. It's light enough that the weight you notice is the gear you add, not the vest itself. That also means it's not built for heavy armor plates — if you want ballistic-level rigidity, look at a dedicated carrier instead. For airsoft loadouts, this is the right tool.
