Most players pick an AK because they want the manual of arms without the gas-system headaches. The Double Bell AK-74M gives you that full-metal feel and the V3 gearbox platform, which means you can tune it for different field limits without splitting the shell.

The V3 advantage. Inside is a full metal Version 3 gearbox. Unlike the V2 shell found on most M4s, the V3 is built for durability and accepts standard AK internals. That matters when you need to drop velocity for an indoor field or bump it up for outdoor skirmish. The metal gears handle the stress, and the solid construction keeps everything aligned as the gun cycles.

Folding stock that works. The stock folds for transport and extends for firing. When folded, the rifle shrinks enough to fit in a backpack or tight vehicle space. Deploying takes a second—pull the release, swing it out, lock it in place. You can run it both ways, but most players extend it before engaging for proper cheek weld and control.

Velocity and where it fits. Rated 360–390 FPS on 0.20g BBs. That clears most outdoor AEG limits (typically 380–400 FPS) and sits right at the upper edge of indoor caps. If your local field runs tight 350 FPS indoors, you'll need to tune the spring down. The source description lists the AK-74M KeyMod variant at this range, so chrono with your own BBs before your first game—temperature and BB weight both move the number.

Externals and weight. Metal receiver, outer barrel, and top cover. Polymer handguards and stock keep the weight at 6.8 lbs unloaded, which is solid for a full-metal AK but not featherweight. The handguard uses M-LOK slots with a full-length top Picatinny rail for optics. The barrel is threaded to accept standard suppressors and flash hiders.

What's in the box. The rifle ships with a 600-round high-capacity magazine in the AK pattern, plus the instruction manual. Battery and charger are not included—you'll need an 8.4V NiMH or 7.4V LiPO pack with a compatible connector. The gun is wired for 7.4V, and while it can run on 8.4V NiMH, do not exceed that without a MOSFET upgrade. There's no built-in MOSFET, so 11.1V LiPO is not recommended.

Before you buy. This is a budget-friendly AK platform. It gets the job done for skirmish and training, but expect to upgrade the hop-up bucking and nozzle for consistent long-range performance. The factory hop-up is adjustable but basic. Also, the grip is polymer, so battery shape is constrained to what fits in the stock tube. If you want a full metal grip and better battery options, look at higher-tier AK platforms.

This is a reliable entry-to-mid-level AEG for players who want the AK platform without spending three figures. It's not a competition rifle, and it's not a collector's piece—it's a skirmish gun that'll take rounds and keep working.

Includes federally mandated blaze orange muzzle tip.
