The FAR 9 is G&G's answer to a specific problem: how do you get a full-featured AEG into a backpack? Built on the proven ARP9 platform, it adds a double-folding design that collapses the rifle from 675mm down to 252.8mm, which is roughly the footprint of a laptop. If you fly to events, keep a gun in your vehicle, or just want a primary that doesn't require a dedicated rifle case, this is the gun built for you.

How the fold works. The CHFS stock folds against the receiver, and the gun fires normally in that configuration, which is useful for tight CQB lanes and vehicle work. The front end folds separately: the barrel assembly detaches at the receiver and swings alongside the body, taking the handguard with it. That fold is for transport and storage, not for shooting. Deploying takes a few seconds and a locking tab on the left side of the handguard secures the front end when you're ready to run.

Internals that punch above the price. Inside is a full metal 8mm ball bearing Version 2 gearbox running G&G's MOSFET and ETU 2.0 systems, paired with the Ifrit 25K long-axis motor. That combination gives you snappy semi-auto trigger response, active braking, and electronic protection against trigger contact wear and motor lockup, and those features would run you into the $400-range a few years ago. The gearbox is a standard V2 shell, so gears, pistons, springs, and cylinder parts are all off-the-shelf when you're ready to tune.

Velocity is CQB-appropriate. Rated 340–360 FPS on 0.20g BBs, with real-world samples often chronoing in the 335–345 range. That clears most outdoor field limits comfortably and puts you inside typical indoor caps. As always, chrono with your own BBs before your first game. BB weight and ambient temperature both move the number.

Magazines you can actually find. The FAR 9 ships with a 68-round transparent mid-cap featuring G&G's multi-follower feeding system, and it accepts all ARP9 magazines, including drums. No proprietary mag hunt, no waiting on restocks, no paying a premium for spares. Given the trigger response this motor delivers, plan on picking up three or four extras.

Externals. Fiber-reinforced polymer upper and lower keep weight at 2090g (4.6 lbs) unloaded. The M-LOK handguard carries a full-length Picatinny rail up top with M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. Flip-up front and rear irons are included, controls are ambidextrous, and there's a rear sling loop for single-point setups. The 14mm CCW threaded barrel accepts standard muzzle devices and mock suppressors. The Macaron Blue colorway is a two-tone finish, a light-blue receiver set with white furniture and plenty of steel.

Before you buy

Battery: The buttpad houses a 7.4V small stick LiPO and is sized for exactly that, larger packs won't fit. The gun is wired to Deans (a Deans-to-small-Tamiya adapter is included). We recommend picking up two batteries so you're not tethered to a charger between games. Battery and charger are not included.

A note on the front fold: When you fold the barrel assembly, it can seat into a locked position that won't release simply by reconnecting it to the receiver — you need to depress the release latch. Take five minutes with the manual and practice the fold-and-deploy cycle at home before your first game day. Once you know it, it's a non-issue.

Effective range: With a 206mm inner barrel and a well-set hop-up, expect solid, consistent performance in CQB and mid-range engagements. This is a pistol-caliber-carbine platform, and it's designed for speed and compactness, not for trading shots with a DMR across an open field.

Includes federally mandated blaze orange muzzle tip.

Note: Battery & Charger DOES NOT come with purchase of rifle (7.4v small stick LiPO Battery & Smart Charger Recommended)
