HFC HG173 M92 Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol w/ Select-Fire, Black

The HFC HG173 answers a specific problem: most gas pistols are semi-auto only. If you want the manual of arms and recoil simulation of a GBB but need full-auto for CQB lanes or backup work, this is one of the few options that delivers both.

How the select-fire works. A physical switch on the frame toggles between safe, semi, and full-auto. You get the reciprocating slide on every shot, so you can run it like a real M92—rack manually if needed, use the slide stop, and rely on the beavertail safety the way the platform was designed. The full-metal slide and frame take the stress of rapid cycling; the grip covers are polymer, which keeps weight down without sacrificing the heft you expect from a metal GBB.

Velocity and where it fits. Rated 300–330 FPS on 0.20g BBs. That clears most indoor CQB caps and sits comfortably under typical 350 FPS limits. It will not clear outdoor field limits (usually 380+ FPS), and it is not a primary rifle replacement—this is a sidearm or a dedicated CQB tool. Chrono with your own BBs before your first game; green gas pressure shifts with temperature, and the number moves accordingly.

What you need to run it. The pistol comes with one 26-round full-metal magazine, a padded hard case, and nothing else. Green gas is not included, and neither is a refill adapter if your field uses a different nozzle. Plan on picking up two or three extra mags; full-auto burns through a 26-round load in seconds, and you'll want spares ready between games.

Internals and upgrades. The HG173 follows standard Tokyo Marui M9 gas blowback dimensions, so most aftermarket hop-up buckings, nozzles, and recoil springs will fit. A precision inner barrel can tighten groups, and a reinforced recoil spring helps the slide cycle reliably during rapid full-auto bursts. The hop-up is adjustable, which matters more than velocity for consistency—heavy BBs (0.23–0.28g) stabilize better outdoors and hold their line in wind.

Before you buy. This pistol runs on green gas, not CO2. CO2 generates higher pressure and can damage seals not rated for it, so stick with green gas or the manufacturer's recommended propellant. The 2.4-pound weight is real metal, so it carries heavier than polymer GBBs. If you want a featherweight backup, look elsewhere. The included case is padded but not drop-proof; store it with the magazine unloaded and the chamber clear.
