JG Airsoft Full Metal Teeth Piston & Polycarbonate Piston Head

This piston set is for anyone rebuilding or upgrading a Version 2 gearbox and wants to avoid the classic "stripped teeth" failure. The sector gear drives the piston through meshing teeth, and that interface takes the hardest mechanical load in the cycle. A worn or underspec piston is usually the first thing to go when a gearbox starts making grinding noises.

What you get. Full metal teeth on the piston body for durability under heavy spring loads. The piston head is polycarbonate, which is the right choice for absorbing the shock of a piston that doesn't fire and protecting the gearbox shell from cracking.

Before you buy. This is a V2 gearbox part. Check your gearbox shell type before ordering—V3, V6, V7 and proprietary shells use different piston geometries. Also verify the angle of engagement on your cylinder head; a mismatched AOE will cause the sector gear to strike the piston at a corner instead of face-on, and it will strip regardless of material quality.

Replacement pistons are a standard maintenance item for high-round-count builds and spring upgrades. If you're running M120 or heavier, metal teeth are the durable choice. For lighter springs or a softer trigger feel, a full polycarbonate piston is gentler on the gear train.
