The Steyr AUG has been in service with various armed forces for decades, a testament to its reliability. While the design is somewhat dated, there are attempts to modernize it. This replica from JG Airsoft shows these changes.
Instead of the original integrated scope, this rifle has a quad RIS handguard. It has a vertical foregrip attached to the bottom rail, while the actual gun has an integrated grip. This arrangement makes the weapon easier to customize.
Many accessories like red dot sights, flashlights, and lasers will stay attached to the rails. Since no iron sights are included, it’s best to get some optics immediately.
The receiver is made of polymer, while some components are metal. Weighing eight pounds, you can attach a sling to the points and carry it around easily. The gearbox is reinforced metal to keep up with battlefield stresses and provide consistent performance.
JG airsoft included an adjustable hop-up to accommodate various BB weights. Making adjustments is crucial for correct flight paths and accuracy.
The company recommends procuring a smart charger for the battery.
