The KJW KP05 answers a straightforward question for airsoft pistol users: why carry two different gas pistols when one can run either green gas or CO2? Built on the proven HI-CAPA platform, this full-metal 1911-style GBB handles both fuel types without modification, giving you flexibility for different environments and seasons.

Dual-fuel capability. The pistol ships with a 30+1 round green gas magazine, but the platform accepts CO2 magazines as well. Green gas delivers smoother recoil and better consistency in warm weather, while CO2 provides higher pressure for more reliable cycling in cold conditions and a sharper kick that some competitive shooters prefer. The same pistol adapts to both.

Full metal construction. Alloy slide, frame, and outer barrel give this a realistic weight of 2.29 lbs and the feel of a serious sidearm. The beavertail safety and dual thumb safeties function as expected, and the frame-mounted tactical rail lets you mount a light or laser without needing a separate adapter. Polymer grip panels keep the weight manageable and provide traction.

Velocity and field use. Rated 370 FPS on 0.20g BBs, which clears most outdoor pistol limits and sits at the upper edge of typical indoor caps. Many fields run 350 FPS for pistols, so you may need to detune slightly for CQB events. As always, chrono with your own BBs before your first game—gas pressure and temperature both affect the output.

The HI-CAPA advantage. This platform is the airsoft equivalent of the 1911 in the real world: deeply supported by aftermarket parts. The standard TM-spec internals mean you can swap hop-up buckings, inner barrels, guide rods, and even entire slide assemblies from multiple manufacturers. If you want to chase better accuracy or tune the blowback for a specific role, the parts are off-the-shelf.

Before you buy. Gas and CO2 cartridges are not included. The included magazine is a mid-capacity green gas type—expect to run through it quickly with the snappy trigger response this platform delivers. Plan on picking up two or three spares, and make sure you have the appropriate gas source for your typical playing conditions.

This is a sidearm built for versatility and upgrade potential, not a lightweight backup. If you want something you can carry all day without noticing, look at a polymer-framed polymer-slide pistol instead.
