For anyone who wants the heft and look of a full-metal 1911 without the gas bill adding up to a second mortgage, the KJW Custom Hi-Capa is built for that trade. It takes the Hi-Capa form factor and dresses it in a full metal construction. The package ships with enough CO2 and BBs to walk into your first game at the field, which is a nice detail for new players who don't want to assemble a loadout before they know the gun.
CO2, not green gas. This pistol runs on 13-gram CO2 cartridges, one per magazine. CO2 gives consistent output in cold weather where green gas (propane with silicone oil) starts dropping velocity and blowback strength. The trade is cost: a CO2 cartridge runs more than a green gas fill, and you're dropping one into the magazine every time you run out of gas, which in a fast skirmish means more trips to the pouch. The magazine holds 30+1 rounds, and you get cartridges with the gun — enough for a couple of games on a single afternoon. The bundle also includes BBs, which is heavier than the 0.20g factory standard and gives you a baseline to chrono against.
Performance in context. Rated 370 FPS on 0.20g BBs with CO2. That puts you above the indoor/CQB cap of 300–350 and into outdoor territory where a 10 to 20 foot minimum engagement distance is the norm. If your field runs tight indoor rules, you'll need this tuned down or running on green gas at lower pressure. With 0.25g BBs — the ones included in the bundle — expect a reading closer to 330, which brings it back inside many indoor caps. Always chrono with your own BBs and your preferred gas before playing.
What the metal means. At 1040 grams, this pistol carries like a real 1911A1. That weight helps with recoil management and makes the blowback feel more like a kick than a tap, but it also makes it a poor choice for players who prioritize light weight and long game sessions in hot weather. The frame rail accepts compact and full-size pistol lights and lasers.
Controls and ergonomics. The grip and trigger frame are polymer, textured for a secure hold — on an on-frame safety, and a manual of arms. Slide serrations are cut front and rear, which helps when the slide locks back on empty and you need to rack it one-handed.
Magazines and spares. The included magazine follows the Hi-Capa pattern — 30+1 with a double-stack feed. Hi-Capa mags are widely available from multiple manufacturers, so you're not locked into a proprietary ecosystem. KJW, Tokyo Marui adapters, and third-party options all share the same basic footprint. That said, 30 rounds empties fast on a pistol, and CO2 mags use more gas per fill than green gas, so plan on picking up a spare or two.
What's in the box. The pistol, a 30+1 magazine, CO2 cartridges, BBs, and the manual. A complete walk-in-the-door package.
Before you buy. This is an OD Green pistol. The colour is cosmetic — it doesn't indicate a different performance tier or special internal configuration. It's a competition/tactical pistol first, not a concealment piece.
This pistol ships with a blaze orange muzzle tip, as required by US law for airsoft replicas.
