3x is too low for field range. 12x is unwieldy for anything closer than 150 feet. The 3-12x40 covers the space between, so you get one optic that works from the tree line to the next field over without mounting a second scope.
The numbers. 3-12x magnification with a 40mm objective lens. At 3x, you're moving fast and keeping situational awareness. At 12x, you're picking shots at distance. That range makes it the natural home on a DMR setup or a dedicated field rifle where you don't want to swap optics between games.
Illuminated reticle. Red, green, and blue with adjustable brightness. Early morning skirmish, twilight milsim, or an indoor field with patchy lighting — pick the color that reads against the background. The included battery means the reticle works from the first minute you mount it.
Build and mounting. Aluminum alloy body. The included scope rings get it on the rail. A solid mount and properly set eye relief matter more than the optic itself for consistent accuracy, so if you're running cheap rings from another project, this is the time to upgrade them.
What it is not. This is not a 1x red dot for CQB — the magnification range starts too high for rapid close-quarters work. It's not a 4-14x or higher dedicated sniper scope either. It's the all-purpose middle ground for players who want one optic that handles most engagement distances.
What's in the box. Scope, mounting rings, battery, Allen keys, lens cleaning cloth, and instruction manual.
