If your AEG is stalling on the draw or your trigger contacts are burning out after a season or two, the motor is usually the piece to replace first. This is Lancer Tactical's high-torque unit in the long-axis form factor, designed specifically for the V2 gearbox family — which covers M4, M16, G3, and most western-platform AEGs.

High torque, not high speed. The motor is wound and geared for pulling effort rather than RPM. That matters in two scenarios. First, players running heavier springs (M120 and above) often find the stock motor struggling to cycle the spring fully, which turns into inconsistent velocity and slower fire. This motor pulls the spring more cleanly. Second, running 11.1V LiPO on a gun without a MOSFET is a fast track to destroying your trigger contacts — the high-torque motor draws current more smoothly, which is why the "11.1V ready" label only makes sense when you've added a MOSFET first.

Long-axis fits V2 grips. The long type is dictated by the grip shape, not preference. V2 platforms — the M4 family, G3, most western reproductions — take the long-axis motor. If your gun has a V3 gearbox (AK, G36, AUG), this won't fit. The shaft is steel, the gears and housing are aluminum, and it's built to last longer than the budget cast-aluminum units that come on entry-level rifles.

Before you swap. Motor height is critical. If the adjustment screw in the grip base is set too high, the pinion strips the bevel gear. Too low and it whines and slips. Set it before you fire the gun up for the first time. Also check your shimming while the box is open — a well-shimmed gearbox is quieter and lasts longer, and there's no reason to leave that step for later.

What this won't do. If you're running a light spring and want maximum rate of fire, you're better off with a speed motor. This is geared for clean cycles and current handling, not chasing RPS numbers. And as always, if you go 11.1V, make sure you have a MOSFET installed before you flip the switch.
