What you're getting. It's a ported piston head machined from high-density POM—polyoxymethylene—which is the same engineering polymer used in quality aftermarket internals. POM holds up to repeated cycling, doesn't absorb oil the way softer plastics do, and resists cracking in a way that cheap nylon heads eventually will. The porting reduces surface area inside the cylinder, so the piston slides back on the cock stroke with less drag and the spring does its job more cleanly.
Why it matters. A stock piston head is typically unported solid polymer. The extra friction inside the cylinder adds up: slower cycle times, more stress on the gears, and inconsistent air compression that shows up as shot-to-shot velocity spread. A ported head addresses the drag side of that equation. Pair it with good shimming and a healthy air seal, and the difference in trigger response and consistency is noticeable.
Before you buy. This is the piston head only—not a full piston assembly. You'll be pulling your existing piston, removing the old head, and pressing this one on during a standard gearbox service. If you've never opened a gearbox before, it's not a terrible learning project, but it is a job where shimming and AOE setting matter. Budget some time with a pad set and a hex driver.
