Electronic hearing protection with Bluetooth. That's the short version. You wear them to the range, your hearing stays safe, and you can listen to music, a podcast, or a hands-free call without ever having to pop one cup off.

How the electronics work. The earmuffs passively block impulse noise (gunfire, backfires, the occasional dropped wrench) while amplifying quiet sounds like voices and range commands. The Bluetooth chip sits inside one cup and pairs with your phone like any earbud. You don't hear the music through the earmuffs the way you'd hear it through cheap plastic earbuds; it's routed inside the cup, sealed by the muff itself. You can play music, take a call, or run a radio app — the hearing protection is still active, still blocking impulses. The trade-off is that you need power. When the battery runs out, the passive NRR is still there, but Bluetooth is not.

Charging and backup. Lancer charges these through USB-C, which is the sensible choice — no hunting for coin cells, no carrying a wallet full of CR2032s. A full charge is usually enough for a day at the range. If the battery is dead, the 3.5mm aux cord included in the box lets you run wired, but that's a fallback, not a feature. The Bluetooth and the ambient amplification won't work without power.

What's in the box. The earmuffs themselves, a hard case for transport, a USB-C charging cable, and a 3.5mm aux cord. No batteries to buy. No adapters to hunt for.

Before you buy. Bluetooth range is line-of-sight phone-to-muff, not walkie-talkie distance. You'll need your phone in a pocket to keep the connection solid. The earmuffs are comfortable for extended wear — you're at a range, not in a concert hall — but fit varies by head shape. If you wear glasses, give them a quick test before committing to a full day. If they don't seal, nothing else matters.
