Lancer Tactical Shadow Warrior Hood Mesh Balaclava Face Mask, Tan

Lancer Tactical's Shadow Warrior hood mesh balaclava is a two-in-one piece: it covers your head and neck with fabric, and protects your eyes with integrated metal mesh. The idea is simple and the math works. Buying the hood and mesh eye guards as separate items costs as much, and wearing a mesh guard with a separate hood is bulkier and harder to keep in place. This does both in one layer under your ballistic goggles and face mask.

How the protection works. The face opening is framed by fine metal mesh that stops BB strikes and is open enough that your breath doesn't fog the mesh itself, which keeps goggles behind it clearer than solid fabric does. Everything else is polyester knit — the hood drapes over your ears and back of the neck, and the knit cuffs at the face edge stretch to grab onto most head sizes without slipping. The mesh is there for impact protection; it's not a substitute for goggles.

Layering that makes sense. Wear the hood on its own in mild weather — the fabric keeps the wind off your ears and jaw. On cold days, run it under a thick balaclava for extra warmth without the bulk of piling on two face pieces. The mesh eye area means you can still wear your gas mask or a full-face balaclava over it on skirmish day, because the fabric part is thin enough not to create pressure points against your goggles.

Fit and practical limits. One size fits most, which is to say it fits the vast majority of adult heads snugly. Very large heads or helmets that sit particularly tight underneath may push the face edge forward, but this is the problem that an additional face mask solves rather than creates. It is not eye protection by itself — always wear it with goggles or safety glasses rated for airsoft impact.
