You need goggles, a headset, and sometimes a camera on your head at a milsim. Most players solve it by duct-taping mounts to whatever shell they've got. The Sentinel MK gives you dedicated rails built in, so everything bolts on and comes off in one piece.
The shell. ABS over a nylon polymer base, which is the standard airsoft helmet recipe: stiff enough to take a stray round or a tree branch without denting, light enough that 1.9 lbs doesn't feel like a helmet after three hours. Tan colorway. You can paint it or mark it up if your unit runs unit-specific finishes, and the ABS takes spray paint well with a light scuff first.
The rails. Ships with rail segments already included. They bolt on and typically accept standard Picatinny accessories: side rails for comms headsets, front rail for goggles or optics, and a rear rail if you want to mount a camera or IR beacon. One set of mounts per accessory, no velcro strips, no zip-tie duct tape.
Padding. The box does not include an inner liner or padding system. You'll want to source your own universal helmet pad or a MIPS-style liner before your first event. A good liner keeps it comfortable in summer and stops your head from sliding around when you're running.
What it is and isn't. This is an airsoft protection shell. It'll take a stray 6mm BB, a low branch, and the occasional head-first dive into foliage. It is not ballistic, not a bump helmet, and not rated for anything outside the skirmish field. Helmet rules vary by event, so check with your organizer before you load up.
Includes the helmet and rail segments. No inner padding is included.
