The 8-tooth dual sector gear from SHS is a straightforward way to boost your AEG's rate of fire without changing the motor or spring. It works the same way as swapping in speed gears, but instead of reducing the gear ratio, it doubles the number of teeth that engage the piston per revolution — each spin of the gear now pulls the piston back twice. The result is noticeably higher RPS from a gearbox that was already running well.

What it fits. This goes into most AEG gearboxes with a conventional gear set stack. It replaces the stock sector gear directly, and installation is basic gearbox service — you split the shell, remove the mainspring, and swap the gear over. If your existing gear set uses the standard pattern, this is a direct drop-in.

Performance trade-offs. Higher RPS means you cycle through a magazine faster, and it also puts slightly more stress on the piston head, cylinder, and nozzle since the piston is being pulled back more frequently. The SHS gear holds up to the load, but running a dual sector on a worn or poorly sealed gearbox only magnifies existing problems. If your velocity is erratic or your break-in time is unusually long, fix the air seal first — a dual sector won't make a leaky box consistent.

When to buy it. If you're already building for high-RPS play and want a simple mechanical upgrade, this is one of the cheapest parts in the gearbox that makes a real difference. If your gun is stock and reliable, there's no rush to install one. It's not a repair part unless your original sector gear is stripped or cracked.
