The Well GX 194 is a full-metal gas blowback pistol. At 2.15 pounds and 9.25 inches long, it has the weight and balance of a traditional service sidearm. The reciprocating slide and working hammer give you recoil and manual of arms that gas blowback is known for — the trade-off is consistency. Green gas output drops in cold weather, and you're paying per magazine for each reload.
Velocity and where it fits. Rated 320–330 FPS on 0.20g BBs. That clears most indoor CQB fields and sits comfortably inside typical 350 FPS caps. Outdoor fields running 400 FPS will have you sidelined for primary weapons, but that's the point of a sidearm — this is your backup when the primary runs dry or when you're clearing tight spaces.
What you need to get started. The pistol ships with one 16-round gas magazine. That's enough for a few hundred rounds — plan on buying spares if you're doing full games. Green gas cans are separate, and you'll need a silicone oil lubricant to keep the seals healthy. The single-stack magazine capacity is typical for this form factor; if you need higher capacity, look at polymer-frame GBBs with double-stack mags instead.
Adjustable hop-up. The dial lets you tune backspin for different BB weights. Heavier BBs (0.23g to 0.28g) hold their line better in wind and maintain energy downrange, but they require more hop-up adjustment. Start with what the field recommends and adjust from there.
Before you buy. This is a sidearm, not a primary. It's built for realism and training value, not for trading shots at 150 feet. The full metal construction is a selling point for collectors and airsoft purists, but it also means this pistol carries heavier than polymer alternatives. If you're buying your first airsoft gun, start with an AEG rifle. If you're adding a credible backup to an existing loadout, the GX 194 does the job.
