Built with a folding stock and a metal forward tri-rail system, the black WellFire MK96 accommodates tight fields and heavy accessory setups. WellFire builds this spring-powered airsoft rifle with a metal outer barrel, receiver assembly, bolt mechanism, and front rails. At 9 pounds, this platform achieves a realistic weight by mounting the metal upper assembly directly to a high-impact polymer chassis. Folding the stock shortens the airsoft rifle's overall length from 47 inches to a compact 38 inches. The platform fires single shots at 430 to 460 FPS with 0.20g BBs, utilizes an adjustable hop-up for trajectory tuning, and feeds from a 35-round magazine. The box includes the rifle, one magazine, a tactical sling, a speedloader, assembly hardware, and a manual.

Internally, this model uses a Maruzen Type 96 layout rather than a standard VSR-10 blueprint, making standard VSR parts incompatible due to dimensional differences in the cylinder and trigger block. Sharpening downrange precision requires dropping in a premium 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and a high-performance Type 96 hop-up bucking. For high-velocity setups using stiffer aftermarket springs, replacing the stock plastic piston with a CNC-machined aluminum piston and upgrading to a steel 90-degree trigger sear is mandatory to prevent the assembly from shearing. A sniper firing at this velocity needs heavyweight 0.32g or 0.36g BBs to cut through outdoor crosswinds and hold a flat trajectory.
