Your gearbox has six gear shafts, each spinning inside a sleeve. Factory polymer sleeves wear down. Steel sleeves hold up. These are the next step: 5KU's 9mm ball bearing bushings with double oil tank reservoirs for a gearbox that wants more than the stock setup.

How they work. Each bushing has steel ball bearings between the shaft and the sleeve, so the gear spins on the bearings instead of rubbing directly against the bushing wall. Less friction, smoother rotation, less heat. The "double oil tank" means oil reservoirs at both ends of the bushing, which lubricates the shaft surface where plain sintered bushings leave dry spots. Combined, the bearings and oil cut resistance across the whole gear train.

9mm, the higher-load option. Bushing diameter is matched to gear shaft size: 6mm for entry-level sets, 7mm as a middle ground, 9mm for upgrade-ready and heavier builds. A 9mm bushing is what you want when the gears, piston, and spring are all taking more stress and the shafts need the support. If your gearbox still has stock 6mm or 7mm shafts, these won't fit — they need 9mm shafts, which is why most upgrade kits move to 9mm as the first step.

What improves. Less gear train resistance means the motor doesn't have to work as hard. That shows up as smoother cycling, lower battery draw, and less wear on everything upstream: motor, wiring, connectors. You'll also get quieter operation, though the real payoff is longevity under load rather than decibels.

Before you buy. This is a six-piece set, one per gear shaft. Installation means opening the gearbox, which is a job you either know or pay someone to do. Basic tools and some patience if you've split a box before. The specs list "9mm steel ball bearings" in the package; this is the complete bushing set.
