The Ares Amoeba M4 CCP is a pistol-length AEG, 12.5 inches long and 3.5 pounds, that fires in semi and full-auto. If you want a compact sidearm that can still pour on volume in a tight lane, this is the platform. The 12.5-inch length makes it easy to maneuver in close quarters, and short enough to switch to quickly.
What's inside. A full-metal Version 2 gearbox is unusual for a pistol-length platform. V2 shells are the most widely supported in airsoft, so gears, pistons, springs, and cylinder parts are off-the-shelf from the largest aftermarket catalog in airsoft. The spring swap on a V2 requires splitting the shell, so plan ahead if you want to tune velocity. The gun uses an 85mm inner barrel and a metal outer barrel. It has an adjustable hop-up, which is worth noting on a gun this short. The Electronic Firing Control System is built in.
How it handles. Rated 290 to 300 FPS on 0.20g BBs, it sits comfortably inside any indoor or CQB field limit. With a 12.5-inch overall length, nylon fiber upper and lower receiver, handguard, and motor grip, this is a volume-of-fire weapon designed for close quarters, not for trading shots at range. The included 300-round hi-cap magazine feeds plenty of rounds, which is the point of a platform like this.
Magazines. It uses M4/M16-pattern magazines, which means 300-round hi-caps are universal and cheap. No proprietary ecosystem to chase. The same mags work on full-size M4s too.
What you need. This bundle is complete: it ships with the gun, a 300-round hi-cap magazine, a battery, a charger, a Deans adapter, and BBs. Don't run a LiPO on this one. The spec sheet says LiPO Ready is No, so the included battery is what this gun is designed for. If you play gas blowback, you'll want a separate CO2 pistol for that experience.
What it isn't. This is a CQB sidearm, not a mid-range field gun. The short barrel, low velocity, and hi-cap feed pattern make it an excellent backup or primary in tight environments, but a poor choice for open-field engagements. If you want a full-size AEG for the field, look at the regular M4 build instead.
Includes federally mandated blaze orange muzzle tip.
