Army Armament R17 Steel Hammer Kit, for R17 GBB Pistols, Black

The R17 is Army Armament's gas blowback pistol platform, and like most GBBs, its internals are what determine how reliably it cycles and how long it lasts between service intervals. The Steel Hammer Kit replaces the factory hammer with a hardened steel version, which is the part that strikes the valve to release gas on each shot.

Why steel matters. Steel hammers resist wear better than polymer or softer metal alternatives, especially when running higher gas pressures or heavier slide assemblies. Over hundreds of rounds, a worn hammer can lead to inconsistent valve strikes, which shows up as velocity variation or failure-to-fire events. This is a durability upgrade for players who put significant round counts through their R17.

Compatibility. This hammer set is machined specifically for the Army Armament R17 platform. It will not fit other GBB pistols, even those that share similar external dimensions. If you're working on a different platform, you'll need the corresponding hammer for that gun.

Installation. Replacing the hammer requires partial disassembly of the slide group. If you're not comfortable working on GBB internals, have a tech handle the install. The kit includes the hammer set; no additional tools or parts are specified.
