The Army Armament R604 4.3 is a compact Hi-Capa gas blowback pistol. At 4.3 inches, it is designed for a smaller profile while maintaining the platform's characteristics. The slide cycles with every shot and provides recoil simulation. This is relevant for training drills and users who want a tunable platform.

Velocity and where it works. Rated 300–320 FPS on 0.20g BBs. This fits typical indoor CQB limits and works as a secondary for outdoor fields where staying under the primary's cap matters. As with any GBB, output drops in cold weather and increases with warmth. Chrono with your own BBs before your first game.

The Hi-Capa advantage. The Hi-Capa platform has extensive aftermarket support. If you want tighter groups, a 6.01mm tightbore inner barrel and 60-degree GBB bucking are options. For faster split times, a lightweight recoil spring guide can be fitted. The magazine holds 28 rounds and accepts TM-spec Hi-Capa mags, so spares are widely available.

What you need to get started. Green gas and 6mm BBs are not included. The magazine holds 28 rounds, and a GBB uses gas quickly. Budget two or three spare mags and a gas canister with silicone oil for lubrication. The R604 uses standard green gas, not CO2.

What this is not for. This is a sidearm, not a primary. The 28-round capacity and gas consumption make it impractical as your only gun for a full day of skirmishing. If you need something for dedicated outdoor long-range work, look at a rifle with a better hop-up and a higher velocity cap.
