The stock grip on a Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa is polymer and designed to be lightweight. It works fine until you're running it hard at a match, or you've had it for years and the texture has smoothed out. The Atlas Custom Works Type 5 grip replaces it with CNC aluminum, so you get a solid feel that doesn't deform under pressure.
What the Type 5 changes. The body is milled from a single block of aluminum with a machine-textured frame for grip in wet or dirty conditions. The Mobius cutout reduces weight and lets your trigger finger sit closer to the guard. You get a built-in magwell that accepts skinny-style magazines without needing a separate extension, a spring housing that covers the mainspring cap, a replacement magazine release, and a trigger guide that can tighten up trigger travel slightly. It's a full grip replacement, not an add-on.
Weight and balance. At 200 grams, this is heavier than the factory polymer grip but lighter than a full steel alternative. The extra mass sits low in the hand, which can help counter muzzle rise on follow-up shots. If you're chasing minimum weight for IDPA or IPSC carry, a polymer grip will be lighter. If you want something that won't crack after a year of hard use, aluminum is the call.
Fit and compatibility. This is made for the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa platform and clones that follow those dimensions. It will not fit GLOCK-pattern GBBs, Sig P320s, or other pistol platforms. If your slide is a Marui Hi-Capa or a reputable clone like KSC/KWA, this should drop in without gunsmithing.
Before you buy. You're replacing the entire grip frame, so expect to transfer your internal components or have a gunsmith do it. The magwell is sized for skinny mags; if you run wide-body competition mags, they may not seat cleanly. This is a functional upgrade first, and while the anodized finish is clean, it's not a showpiece — it's meant to be run.
Includes the grip assembly only. Springs, pins, and internal components are not included.
