Atlas Custom Works DL-1 Sport 4.9" CNC Aluminum AK Handguard Extender for 5KU and B-10L Sport, Desert Tan

The 5KU Sport's B-10L handguard is an excellent idea that ran into one problem: it's too short for anyone who wants to run a light or a forward grip without their hand sitting on the barrel. The DL-1 Sport is Atlas Custom Works's fix. It slips over the existing handguard and adds 4.9 inches of M-LOK so you can actually mount something in front of it.

How it fits. The extender is designed for the 5KU B-10L Sport specifically, and it also mates with a handful of other handguards that share the same outer profile — the product page lists the compatible set. It's not a universal AK adapter; if your handguard doesn't match the reference dimensions, it won't seat cleanly. Check the fit list before buying.

What you can mount on it. 4.9 inches of M-LOK gives you enough room for a vertical grip, a 90-degree angle grip, or a small AIAS-style light without crowding your existing setup. The CNC aluminum is light compared to steel and doesn't add much to the fore-end balance. The Desert Tan color matches the 5KU's existing furniture.

Build quality. CNC from a solid block, slot-milled for direct-attach accessories, and secured with set screws that clamp the extender down over the original handguard. It's not a tension-ring design, so you get a solid clamp but you do need to check torque after the first few games — AK loads are rough on handguard hardware. The whole thing weighs roughly the same as a handful of screws. If you want the lightest possible add-on, you've got it.

What it isn't. This is a handguard extender, not a replacement. It doesn't fix a loose or cracked original handguard, and it doesn't change the gun's profile for milsim purity — it's purely functional. If you're building a period-accurate look, keep walking.
