Solar power on a red dot sight means you don't spend your game hunting for batteries. The XR5 from Atlas Custom Works has a solar cell on top that harvests ambient light, so it keeps running during outdoor play even after the factory-installed coin cell battery drains. Pair that with unlimited eye relief and parallax-free viewing, and you get a sight that's fast to use with less to worry about.

It's a compact unit CNC-machined from aluminum. The Dark Earth finish is a muted brownish-tan. It mounts to standard Weaver or Picatinny rails with the included base and hardware.

Red dot sights put a small illuminated dot in your field of view with both eyes open, which is faster than iron sights at close range and simpler than a magnified optic. Unlimited eye relief means you don't have to hold the sight at a specific distance from your eye to get a clear dot. Parallax-free means the dot stays on target regardless of your head position. Neither feature is a replacement for decent marksmanship, but both remove obstacles between you and making a shot.

Before you buy. The solar cell supplements the battery rather than replacing it entirely — an indoor game or evening play session relies on the coin cell, so start with a fresh battery.
