You need your mags accessible and your weight low. A plate carrier gives you armor but kills your mobility when you're running lanes or playing an event where the rules don't require it. The Code 11 FC Tactical Extended Chest Rig sits between the two: it's a load-bearing platform that carries what you need without the bulk of a full vest.
How it wears. At 0.74 lbs unloaded, the rig itself is basically weightless until you start loading it up. The laser-cut design means no heavy stitching channels, so it sits flatter against your chest than a stitched MOLLE rig of the same footprint. H-shaped shoulder straps spread the load across your chest instead of digging into your shoulders, which matters when you're wearing it for three-hour games. The rig comes in Black, built from Cordura.
What you can carry. The front panel runs hook and loop panels and G-buckle attachment points. You can mount Code 11 front panels, add side wing expansion panels, or go with your own pouch arrangement. The M-System mounting points accept Code 11's proprietary accessories, so signal lights, patches, and mission pouches all click onto the same rail. It's modular, but that means you decide what goes on it. If you want a carry-everything rig ready to wear out of the box, this is the wrong starting point.
Before you buy. This ships as the chest rig only. You'll want mag pouches, an admin pouch at minimum, and probably a radio or med pouch depending on your role. Code 11 makes the front panels and side wings to fit this platform, but any pouch with G-buckle straps or MOLLE-compatible backings will mount to it. If you're replacing a plate carrier, remember this is a chest rig. It's for light loadouts where mobility is the priority, not for carrying plate inserts or a full loadout of gear.
The FC Tactical Extended design runs wider than a standard chest rig, so it works if you're mounting a full chest panel and running wings. If you're building a minimalist two-mag setup, it's still the right platform. The rig handles either way.
