FMA Integrated Head Protection System Helmet, Black

The FMA Integrated Head Protection System (ICH) is the airsoft field's answer to a straightforward problem: you need a helmet that actually covers your skull, keeps its padding on, and gives you somewhere to stick accessories — without the weight and cost of a military-surplus plate carrier. It is an ABS shell, not a ballistic helmet. It is for airsoft, paintball, Wargame, and milsim events where head protection is required or wise. It is not for real-world ballistics.

How it fits and feels. The suspension is X-type pad arrangement with memory sponge inserts that press against your temples and crown. New pads take a few games to compress to your head shape; once broken in, it stays secure through sprints, ducking, and the occasional shot you didn't see coming. The reflective blocks woven into the padding keep your silhouette visible inside the game-control zone — range finders and marshals can spot you at distance. That reflects your position back toward them, which is why most players peel the blocks out before every game.

Accessories and the rail system. Along the sides runs a V-type guide rail that clips onto standard PVS-14-style night vision mounts. Attach one or a dual-tube bracket, and your ICH becomes a low-cost NVG base for night games. The large Velcro panels on the front and sides accept any standard hook-and-loop patch — flag, unit tape, morale patch, your call. There is no built-in mount for communications gear; you'd need an add-on boom mic bracket, and those are platform-specific.

Weight and material. At 1160 grams (roughly 2.5 pounds), this is a solid helmet but not featherweight. ABS gives you rigidity without the price of a composite shell. You will notice the weight on a long day of games, especially in heat, but it distributes across the X-type pad system better than cheaper foam-helmet designs that slap on and slide around. The shell has generous multi-faceted Velcro sections for customization — front, sides, and the area around the rail.

What's in the box. The helmet ships as a single piece. No mounts, no NVGs, no patches. If you need NVG compatibility, you'll need to buy a rail mount separately. No hydration integration or comms mount is included.

Before you buy. Remove the reflective blocks before playing. Marshals and range finders read those reflections, and you'll be calling yourself in far more often than you intend. The helmet is one size — check that it sits comfortably on your head before your first game, and break in the pads with a few dry runs through your loadout so you know how it feels with goggles and any patches you plan to run.
