The HFC HG173 is a gas blowback M9-style pistol built for players who want realistic manual of arms without the cost of a full-size rifle. At 2.3 pounds with a metal slide over a polymer frame, it balances weight and durability the way a service pistol should. The blowback action cycles the slide on every shot, giving you recoil kick and a working safety that you actually have to manipulate.
Velocity and where it fits. Rated 310–330 FPS on 0.20g BBs. That puts it squarely in the CQB and indoor range, where most fields cap around 350 FPS. It's also light enough to carry as a sidearm on a larger loadout without weighing down your draw. As always, chrono with your own BBs before your first game—temperature and gas pressure both move the number.
The M9 platform advantage. This runs on the M9/Marui platform, which means parts and magazines are widely available. The slide-mounted safety is functional, the hop-up is adjustable for dialing in different BB weights, and the internals accept common upgrades if you want to tune it later. You're not locked into a proprietary ecosystem.
What comes in the box. The pistol and a 25-round gas magazine. Green gas and BBs are not included—you'll need to buy those separately. A standard green gas adapter may be required depending on what gas source you use.
What to expect from GBB. Gas blowback pistols trade some consistency for realism. In warm weather they cycle reliably; in cold weather the output drops and you may need more frequent gas refills. That's the trade-off you accept for the slide action and recoil. If you want temperature-stable performance, an AEG or HPA system is the better choice.
This is a sidearm. It's for close-range work, backup duty, or training. It's not a primary rifle replacement for open-field skirmishing.
