The HFC M190 is a CO2-powered blowback pistol built around the classic M9 platform. If you want realistic recoil and slide action without the temperature sensitivity of green gas, this is the category. The 12g CO2 cartridge delivers higher pressure than green gas, which means snappier blowback and better performance in cold weather, but also more wear on internal seals over time.

Velocity and where it fits. Rated 310–340 FPS on 0.20g BBs. That sits comfortably inside most indoor CQB limits and works for outdoor skirmish where pistols are capped around 350 FPS. As with any gas gun, actual velocity shifts with CO2 temperature, BB weight, and how fresh the cartridge is. Chrono with your own BBs before your first game.

The blowback experience. The slide reciprocates on every shot, cycling the action and providing recoil impulse. This is the manual of arms you see in training videos: rack the slide to chamber, engage the safety, mag check, clear a malfunction. It's also what makes CO2 attractive for dry-fire practice and scenario training where realism matters. The trade-off is that gas blowback pistols consume more gas per shot than non-blowback designs, so you'll go through CO2 cartridges faster during extended gameplay.

What's in the box. The pistol comes with a 26-round metal magazine, a hard shell padded case, and a small pack of sample BBs. You will need to buy 12g CO2 cartridges separately, along with silicone oil for maintaining the internal seals. If you plan to run this regularly, pick up a multi-pack of CO2 cartridges and at least one spare magazine — 26 rounds empties quickly on semi-auto.

Externals and controls. The frame and slide are polymer with metal internal components, keeping weight at 2.25 pounds. The grip is textured for retention, and you get front and rear serrations for easy racking. White three-dot sights are standard, and there's a 20mm Picatinny rail under the barrel for lights or lasers. The safety is ambidextrous, and the magazine release is reversible.

Upgrades and maintenance. The M9 platform has deep aftermarket support for hop-up buckings, barrels, and internal parts. HFC designed this model for strong out-of-the-box performance, so the most practical upgrades focus on consistency: an aftermarket GBU bucking, a precision inner barrel, and quality 0.25g or heavier BBs. The tight tolerances mean internal valve or blowback housing replacements require precise fitting — this isn't a beginner's build-it-yourself platform.

What this pistol is not for. This is a sidearm, not a primary. Don't expect the effective range of an AEG carbine, and don't rely on CO2 consistency for precision shooting. It's also not ideal for extended outdoor sessions where you'd need to swap cartridges constantly. If you want a reliable backup, a training tool, or a pistol for indoor fields, this fits. If you need a primary rifle or a gun that runs all day without refilling, look elsewhere.
