The HFC M9 solves a specific problem: what if you want a sidearm that can keep up with your primary in full-auto lanes? Most gas blowback pistols are locked to semi-auto. This one has a slide-mounted selector that gives you semi, full-auto, and safe, and it runs on 12g CO2 cartridges instead of green gas.

Why CO2 matters. CO2 runs at higher pressure than green gas, which means more consistent velocity across a magazine and better performance in cold weather. You trade that consistency for some extra wear on seals, so keep the gun lubricated with silicone oil. The 280–300 FPS rating on 0.20g BBs clears most indoor CQB fields and keeps you legal at outdoor skirmishes where sidearms run a lower cap than rifles.

What the metal adds. The slide, outer barrel, trigger, and safety are all metal alloy over a polymer frame. That metal construction makes it feel substantial compared to polymer-only pistols, though it will be heavier to carry during long games. If you want a lightweight backup, look elsewhere.

The full-auto catch. A 25-round magazine empties fast on full-auto. You'll burn through CO2 faster too, since each shot vents gas for the blowback cycle. Plan on carrying three or four mags and a stash of 12g cartridges if you're running this as your primary sidearm. The magazine drops free and uses M9-pattern dimensions, but spares are platform-specific rather than universal like AEG mags.

What's in the box. You get the pistol, one 25-round magazine, an Allen tool for loading CO2, a small bag of sample BBs, and the manual. Battery and charger are not applicable—this runs on disposable CO2 cartridges. You'll need to buy those separately along with silicone oil for maintenance.

Before you buy. This is a CQB sidearm, not a primary rifle replacement. At this size, it's compact enough for vehicle work and tight spaces, but don't expect it to trade shots beyond 100 feet. The adjustable hop-up helps, but effective range on a pistol this size is limited. If you're looking for a DMR or long-range option, this isn't it.
