HFC Metal M9 Gas Non-Blowback Airsoft Pistol, Silver

The HFC M9 is a green gas pistol built for a specific role: a reliable secondary that won't leave you at the chrono station. At 280–300 FPS on 0.20g BBs, it clears most indoor CQB limits and sits comfortably below typical outdoor sidearm caps. You get that velocity without the gas waste and recoil kick of a blowback system, which is the trade-off here.

Non-blowback means you shoot more per fill. Without a reciprocating slide, nearly all the gas goes into propelling the BB rather than cycling the action. A single green gas magazine can run 40 to 60 rounds depending on conditions, compared to 20 to 30 on a typical GBB. The downside is you lose the manual of arms—the slide doesn't move, there's no bolt lock on empty, and the recoil impulse is muted. For a backup or a CQB primary where you're not trying to replicate a duty pistol, that's acceptable.

Fixed hop-up is the limiting factor. This pistol has a non-adjustable hop-up chamber, which means you set it at the factory and live with it. You can still tune it by switching to heavier BBs—0.25g or 0.28g will stabilize better outdoors and resist wind drift—but you won't dial in fine adjustments like you can on a rotary hop-up. For indoor play with 0.20g or 0.25g, it's fine. For outdoor fields where you need to push range, it's a ceiling you hit quickly.

Externals and build. The frame is polymer with metal internals, which keeps weight down while the internal mechanisms handle the cycling stress. There's a Weaver/Picatinny rail under the barrel for lights or lasers, and the slide-mounted safety is functional. Iron sights are included and usable at CQB distances. The 25-round magazine drops free when you release it.

Before you buy. The box includes the pistol, one magazine, an Allen key, a small bag of sample BBs, and a manual. You'll need to buy green gas separately, and given the gas consumption, having a second or third magazine is worth it if you plan to run this as a primary. Battery and charger are not involved—this is purely gas-powered. If you want blowback recoil and manual of arms, look at a GBB instead. If you want a dependable indoor secondary that runs cool and wastes less gas, this is the right tool.
