Lancer Tactical's AAV-style plate carrier is a no-nonsense carrier for players who want the look and the plate pockets without paying for brand-name gear. It's built from 1000D nylon — heavy enough to carry steel or ceramic plates without sagging, but not so thick that it turns you into a sauna on a hot game day. The "1000D" is the denier of the weave: thicker thread, more abrasion resistance, and the kind of material that lasts when you're crawling through dry brush and scraping along concrete walls.
How it's laid out. You get two large plate pockets in the standard front-and-back arrangement, sized for standard SAPI-style plates — the same dimensions used by most milsim and force-on-force gear. The panels carry MOLLE webbing across the front and back, so you can mount pouches where you want them rather than where the manufacturer decided for you. Four D-rings at the corners handle rigging and a quick-dump setup, and the cummerbund around the waist is adjustable to fit a wide range of body sizes and layer thicknesses.
What it is and isn't. This is a carrier shell — plates are not included. If you want ballistics protection, you buy the plates separately. It's designed for milsim and force-on-force play where the look matters and you actually want to carry weight. If you're looking for something lightweight for fast CQB skirmish where you're mostly running a rig with mags and medgear, this is going to feel like overkill.
The fit. The cummerbund adjusts to fit most body types, and the plate panels sit flat against the torso when loaded. With no plates in it, the carrier is light and unrestrictive — you can wear it for photo ops, team runs, or as a base layer under a vest or hoodie. The webbing holds pouches securely when properly tensioned, and the D-rings give you options for rigging that a plain cummerbund doesn't.
