A 47" rifle bag does one job, and it does it for most standard AEGs and carbines — M4s, G36s, MP5s — collapsed. A full-length G36 or an M4 with a telescopic stock all the way out might be pushing it, so measure your gun before you buy. The 47" figure in the specs is the outer dimension; what you can actually fit inside is a couple inches shorter.
600D nylon is the material. It's not ballistic, it won't protect your rifle if it falls off a truck, but it keeps scuffs off the finish in the cargo hold and takes normal field abuse without showing wear. It's soft-sided, which means it doesn't count as a hard case for airline purposes — the check-in bin is where it lives regardless.
There's a shoulder strap. If the listing you're looking at doesn't call one out, give the supplier a quick message before ordering — a bag you have to drag by the zip puller is not a useful bag. There's a single main compartment, no padded dividers. You fold or coil your rifle and drop it in. Simple.
Black. No tricks.
What it's not. A hard case, a wheelie, or a pouch for magazines and gear. It's a rifle bag. If you need your gun to survive being dropped on concrete, get a hard case. If you need something for the field where the check-in bin is a step, this is it.
