The tappet plate is the single component in an AEG gearbox most likely to fail, and usually in the most inconvenient way. It's the bridge between the sector gear and everything else: one side pushes the piston back to compress the spring, the other retracts the air nozzle so the BB can rise into the chamber. Wear, stripped teeth, or a cracked plate turns into misfires, double feeds, and loss of air seal — and it usually happens right before a game.

This is a replacement tappet plate built for the Version 3 gearbox, which is the shell used on AK, G36, AUG, SIG, and many other non-M4 platforms. It's made from polycarbonate rather than the standard nylon used on factory plates, which gives it longer life against the repeated impact of the sector gear's first tooth. The blue color is cosmetic — the material is polycarbonate throughout, and the color simply helps you tell it apart when you're rummaging through a parts tray.

Fitment depends on the gearbox platform, not the brand stamp. If your rifle uses a V3 box — most Classic Army AK-pattern rifles and G36-style AEGs — this is the correct replacement. It's a direct swap; no shimming or adjustment is involved. Just split the receiver, pop the old plate out, and seat the new one before reassembly. You'll also want to inspect the sector gear's first tooth while you're in there — a worn gear will strip the new plate sooner than the old one did.
