It uses a molded ABS shell that holds the gun by the trigger guard, which means it stays put when you're moving and protects the frame from knocks and scrapes.

How it secures the gun. A slide lock engages over the top of the pistol and holds it down. There's also an elastic retention strap that adds a second point of contact, so you can run or crouch without worrying about the gun bouncing free.
