Most AEGs ship with the same spring they left the factory with, and if you want a gun that sits comfortably inside your field's chrono limit, the spring is the upgrade that moves the number. The Lancer Tactical M100 piano wire spring is the workhorse in the middle of the range — a step up from entry-level stock springs without the stress that heavier builds put on your internals.

What the M-rating means. Spring ratings are approximate: an M100 lands roughly around 320 to 330 FPS on 0.20g BBs in an otherwise stock setup. Your actual number depends on cylinder volume, barrel length, air seal, and the condition of your gears and piston head. Field safety limits are enforced on measured velocity, not on what the spring is called, so chrono the result with your own BBs before game day. Ambient temperature and break-in both shift the number.

Piano wire construction. Unlike standard spring steel, piano wire is drawn to a higher tensile strength and wound tighter, which gives more consistent compression cycle to cycle and holds its tension longer. That translates to shot-to-shot consistency and less performance loss over time. At 18g, it weighs the same as any M100 in the market.

What else to think about. A heavier spring pulls more current and puts more stress on the piston, gears, and motor. If you're running a stock speed motor or worn bushings, stepping up to an M100 can expose weak points. A high-torque motor and a MOSFET handle the extra draw more cleanly. On a Version 2 gearbox, swapping the spring means splitting the shell — it's not a quick-change setup like some V3 platforms. Factor that into your toolbox and your timeline.

Compatible with standard AEG gearboxes. Sold individually.
