A simple problem with a simple answer: your NVG mount sits on the side of your helmet, and you need something in front of it so the tubes don't hang over the edge when you tilt your head down. This is that piece.
The VAS shroud is a flat, angled plate that bolts to your helmet in front of the mount, pushing the tubes clear. Built from fiber-reinforced polymer — light, cheap, and not going to crack if you set it down wrong — it's the sort of thing you install in under a minute and never think about again.
Who it's for. Players running side-mounted NVGs who actually look down at the ground instead of walking chin-up for the whole night. If your mount has an arm that angles the tubes forward, you may not need it — but on a straight bolt-on, the shroud is the difference between hitting your tubes on a doorframe and clearing it cleanly.
Compatibility. The shroud is designed for Lancer Tactical's VAS rail system. If your helmet already has a VAS-compatible mounting plate on the front, it drops in. If you're not sure whether your plate counts as VAS, check for the rail pattern Lancer uses rather than guessing.
Includes the shroud and the hardware to bolt it down.
