The Lonex Enhanced Helical Gear Set is for players who want their gearbox to handle a heavier spring without grinding itself to pieces. Helical gears mesh more gradually than the straight-cut sets that come stock on most AEGs, which means they run quieter and put less shock on the gearbox shell with every cycle.
What the torque ratio means. This is a high-torque set, so it trades rate of fire for mechanical advantage. You fit it when you're running an M120 spring or planning to, or when your current gearbox is struggling to cycle reliably under load. If you're chasing faster trigger response on a light spring, a speed gear set is the right choice instead.
What you get. The set includes the sector gear, spur gear, and bevel gear. All three are cut from heat-treated steel, which is the baseline for durability on anything beyond entry-level springs. The helical cut is the main upgrade: smoother engagement, less noise, and reduced stress on the motor and battery over time.
Compatibility. Fits most Version 2, Version 3, and Version 6 gearboxes. V2 is the standard M4/M16 shell, V3 covers AK and similar platforms, and V6 is the P90's compact shell. If your gearbox is a proprietary shell from a premium brand, check the fit before you buy.
Before you buy. Installing gears means splitting the gearbox. If you have no experience with gearbox work, budget for a technician's time. A properly shimmed gear set runs quiet and smooth; a poorly shimmed one whines and wears faster than stock. Also: gears alone do not increase FPS. They let your existing spring cycle reliably. If you want more velocity, you still need to swap the spring, and you'll want a MOSFET to protect your trigger contacts when the current draw goes up.
