Your eyes get the goggles. Your ears and lower face get protection from direct hits to the jawbone. Half-face masks sit between full balaclavas and a bare face, and the Sentinel Tactical Elite is built for the middle ground: steel mesh over the face, 1000D nylon around the perimeter and ears.

What it protects. A steel mesh grille covers the lower face and cheeks, which is the area that takes the most damage when shots deflect up from the ground or when someone fires from waist height. The ears are enclosed, which matters because a direct hit to an ear at range is one of the worst ways to take a shot in airsoft. This is not a full-face mask, so you'll still need goggles or a helmet visor for eye protection — it's designed to work underneath one, not replace it.

Shell material. 1000D nylon is the standard for protective airsoft gear: it's thick enough to resist abrasion from brush and branches, holds its shape through repeated use, and breathes better than a full neoprene or rubber face covering. The woodland digital camouflage is low-contrast for outdoor fields, where that's the environment you're playing in.

Before you buy. This is a half-face mask — it covers the lower face and ears. Eye protection is your responsibility. If you're looking for something that covers everything in one piece, you want a full-face mask or a helmet with an integrated visor instead.
