What folds and what stays rigid. The stock pivots on a hinge at the receiver and collapses against the left side of the buffer tube. At 8.3 inches folded, that is the difference between leaning a rifle in a corner and actually fitting it under a bench. The stock pad, cheek piece, and buttplate all stay fixed to the stock body — they don't detach during the fold — so you're not carrying loose pieces to lose later.
