The hop-up bucking is the part that actually touches the BB and puts backspin on it. Without a bucking in good shape, no amount of hop adjustment will give you a consistent line. The AMA 70 Degree Type-A is a hard durometer bucking designed for players running heavier BBs or pushing higher velocity — softer buckings wear through quickly under that kind of load, and a 70° rating holds its shape longer while still gripping the BB.
Harder buckings pair best with 0.25g to 0.30g BBs. If you run 0.20g, you may find it struggles to hold the BB properly, and you'll see it as inconsistent velocity or shots that don't track straight. Match the bucking hardness to your BB weight, not the other way around.
The Type-A profile is the standard universal shape that fits most AEG hop-up chambers without an R-hop conversion kit. You drop it in, set the nub, and adjust — no custom patches, no fitting. If your gun already has a rotary or one-piece chamber and you're happy with the setup, this bucking is a straightforward replacement or backup.
One bucking, fits most AEG hop-up units. Rubber compound rated 70 degrees. Blue. Keep one in your loadout — they wear out, and it's faster to swap than to figure out why your grouping fell apart mid-game.
