Traditional AK handguards are round wood or polymer, and they don't accept modern accessories. If you want a light, a laser, or a vertical grip on a Tokyo Marui AKM GBB, you need to replace the front end entirely.
The Atlas Custom Works Short M-LOK Handguard swaps the stock handguard for a CNC aluminum tube with M-LOK slots. The short profile keeps the rifle balanced for CQB and doesn't add unnecessary weight—300 grams is light for a full aluminum handguard.
What M-LOK gives you. The slots let you attach grips, lights, and lasers at various positions along the handguard. M-LOK hardware is standard across the industry, so accessories from any brand fit. Unlike old-style rail covers or clamp-on rails, M-LOK sits flush with the handguard surface, keeping the profile slim and preventing snags on gear or vegetation.
Fit and compatibility. This handguard is machined specifically for Tokyo Marui AKM GBB rifles. It replaces the original handguard and lower handguard assembly. If you're running a different AK platform—VFC, KWA, or an AEG—check the manufacturer's specifications; TM-spec AKMs have different dimensions than other platforms.
What you get and what you need. The package includes the handguard. You'll need to supply your own accessories—grips, lights, lasers—as well as mounting hardware and a hex key or Allen wrench set for installation. Gas and magazines aren't part of this purchase; this is a handguard only, not a complete rifle.
This handguard is for players who want a modern, modular AK without switching platforms. It won't make your rifle lighter than the stock wood version, but it does give you the accessory flexibility most AK owners lack. If you're building a traditional wood-finish AK for authenticity, skip this. If you want to run a light on the left side and a grip under the barrel, this is the upgrade.
