If you're running a Hi-Capa in competition or just want cleaner trigger response from your gas blowback pistol, the hammer and strut are the first internals to touch. The Atlas Custom Works set swaps out the stock parts for steel, which holds its shape under repeated gas cycles and gives you a more consistent reset.

What the hammer and strut actually do. The hammer controls how the valve opens and closes on each shot, and the strut sets the sear engagement. Together they determine how crisp your trigger feels and how reliably the pistol cycles. A lightweight hammer reduces inertia in the fire control group, which can tighten up the trigger pull and help the slide cycle cleanly on lighter gas loads. The steel construction resists the wear that soft metal or polymer parts accumulate after hundreds of rounds.

Fit and compatibility. This set fits Marui, WE, and ARMY Hi-Capa series pistols, as well as other models built to the same spec. It is not a drop-in guarantee—Hi-Capa internals vary from unit to unit, and a gunsmith may need to polish or adjust the fit before the sear engages cleanly. If you do not have experience working on gas blowback pistols, plan on having a technician install and tune this.

What you need to know before buying. This is an internal performance part, not a cosmetic upgrade. You will not feel the difference in how the pistol looks or feels in your hand. The change shows up in trigger response and cycling reliability, and only after you have fired enough rounds to notice the pattern. It is also not a beginner project. Disassembling a Hi-Capa, swapping internals, and reassembling it correctly requires patience and the right tools.
