The 1911's magazine catch is one of those small parts that makes a real difference when you're running hard. Factory catches on Tokyo Marui GBBs wear out fast — the spring weakens, the button gets sloppy, and your magazine can slip during a match. This Atlas Custom Works Type 1 catch replaces the original with stainless steel and a tighter fit.

Type 1 means it matches the original TM 1911A1 profile. It is not the Type 2 design you see on newer models, so do not mix them up. The stainless steel resists wear better than polymer, and the gold finish is a plated coating.

Installation is straightforward if you have taken down a 1911 before. You are swapping the catch, the spring, and the plunger. No gunsmithing required. The package includes just the magazine catch — you will reuse the spring and plunger from your original part.

This is a maintenance and upgrade part, not a complete rebuild. If your catch is still tight and positive, there is no reason to change it. If it is worn or you want a more durable option for heavy use, this is the upgrade.
